This study intends to collect information on the Taekwondo Do-jang image and finds improvement plan after categorizing negative image of Taekwondo Do-jang. To achieve the foregoing objectives, this study selected 100 amateurs and 100 Taekwondo people as participants. This study collected images of Taekwondo Do-jang targeting the above two groups and categorized negative elements of the collected ones. For finding plans to improve negative image of Taekwondo Do-jang, this study selected 7 Taekwondo experts. Open survey in respect of Taekwondo Do-jang image was formed and used as a research tool and in-depth interview was also implemented based on the precedence researches. Data collected was processed using an inductive content analysis of qualitative data analysis method. Triangulation was also used for making the validity of data higher. As for the improvement plan of negative image, result was suggested according to the deductive development method in respect of factors. And conclusions derived through the process are as follows. While suggesting children in Taekwondo uniform, a place where the shout of concentration sounds, kicking, smashing, exercising place and olympic as positive images of Taekwondo Do-jang, amateurs mentioned about image as exercise only for children, private institute not as a place for martial art, cheap exercise, unsanitary environment and risk of injury as negative images. Meanwhile, Taekwondo people recollected personality education, enhancement of physical strength and self-defense as positive image, but they also have negative images such as exercise only for children and private institute not as a place for martial art like amateurs mentioned. Detailed categorization of negative images that both amateurs and Taekwondo people are having in common included images as exercise only for children, private institute not as a place for martial art, cheap exercise, unsanitary environment, risk of injury, too many Taekwondo Do-jang, a place for amusement, difficult exercise, exercise only for men and boring exercise.
