This study conducted a physical activity program using traditional games with 20 6-year-old children attending in D Kindergarten at D-gu(exercise group) and 20 6-year-old children attending Y Kindergarten at Ngu( control group) in G Metropolitan City. 8 traditional games were selected and applied for 40 minutes, three per week for 8 weeks to examine basic moto skills, physical self-concept, and physical expression. Finally, the following results were obtained. First, there was a significant difference in locomotion factors(walking, jumping, galloping, and skipping) of basic motor skills at P<.05. Second, there was a significant difference in sub-factors of physical self-concept (exercise competency, appearance, fitness, and health) at P<.05. Finally, there was a significant difference in sub-factors of physical expression (diversity, direction, temporality, and expression) at P<.05. Based on these results, traditional games can paly an important part in young children. If this program is researched and developed continuously and systematically and used widely to kindergarten and elementary school, it will have positive effects on many fields in children who are in the period of emotional growth.
