The purpose of this study was to identify effects of exercise on and Heat Shock Protein(HSP 70) of obesity. This purpose had to investigate the differences in expression of HSP 70 between obesity group and normally heathy group after an acute exercise. The written informed consent was obtained from 16 participants, eight normally healthy persons and eight obesity ones. Two subjects were excluded from the study because they did not participate in the prescribed exercise. Eight subjects in control group were healthy with no history of muscular-skeletal diseases and metabolic diseases. The baseline level of obesity was determined at 25 % of the fat. Blood was sampled five minutes before exercise, at exhaustion, and after 30 minutes of recovery. All statistical analyses and description methods were computed by SPSS window 12.0. Differences in the values between exercise group and control group were calculated using t-tests. Analysis of Covariance(ANCOVA) was performed to know the differences in values between pre and post exercise in each group. The results of this study were as followings: There was no significant difference in HSP 70 which is a common test for evaluation of HSP between normally healthy group and obesity group after exhaustion and 30 minutes of recovery. At exhaustion, normally healthy group showed lower HSP activity than did obesity group. In summary, contrary to the findings that subjects demonstrated increased HSP 70 expression in order to act as molecular chaperones, minimizing protein aggregation after an acute exercise, HSP 70 levels after exhaustion of the long term exercise were significant low.
