By examining the desired career paths by the students of Sports and Leisure studies, this study was designed to prepare preceding information for minimizing the alienation between colleges and improving the career counseling and curriculums in the future. The subjects were 937 students from 9 departments of Sports and Leisure Studies in the study areas, metropolitan area, Choongnam province, Gwangju, Daegu and Busan. Female students appeared to feel more difficulties in finding employment related to the field of Sports and Leisure Studies than male students. For each academic year, higher the academic year more students considered job choices in fields other than sports, and the physical education teacher and the physical exercise trainer compose the large portion in overall academic year. While compared to students with special skills, regular students preferred more various fields of jobs, students with special skills placed too much emphasis on being sports athletes. This is assessed as the result of a settling tendency due to easy conditions for becoming sports athletes and infrequent exposure to other career fields, and career counseling for more variety of career fields should be implemented. Compared to students who have not fulfilled their military duties, students who have fulfilled theirs displayed more practical employment choices and more interest in other career fields. The preferences for career field which accounts for the characteristics of regions were present for each region, and for each college, the characteristics of curriculums were found to affect the choice in jobs.
