This study is devised in an attempt to find out if the experience of participation in any sports correlates with upward social mobility. For the purpose of the study, we are supposed in comparison with non-athletes and the social stratum, inter-generational and intra-generational mobility, socio-economic achievement, which depend on the variables of the exercise of retirement type and of athletic field in the athlete group, and occupational status attainment. To meet the end of this study, 549 athletes and 896 non-athletes who went to the K-university were questioned, from which we get field data. `T-test` was hired to compare social status, social mobility with the socio-economic mobility in relation to athlete`s retirement types and field. And `one-way ANOVA method` was used for the comparison of the socio-economic achievements. These study processes have led us to the conclusions below. First, sports participation is contributive to any upward social mobility. Second, it is rather the investment or the preparations for the occupational life, or social background of the subjects, that is more attributive than the athletic abilities or fame.
