The purpose of this study lies in groping for an application program of volunteers as a program for the activation of sports event. The result of this is as follows; As an application program to perform sports events successively, First, we have to maintain well-qualified volunteers with the understanding of volunteers resource. For this, it needs to be connected with domestic and foreign volunteer-related groups, to get information from them, and to set up a volunteer leader band. Also we should get information on the members of the course of physical education, sports-science, recreation-related dept., or related groups, and then educate them so that they may he volunteers at various sports events. Second, considering each volunteer`s character and ability, we should arrange them to proper places. As sports event requires various range of volunteers, it is important to put a right man in a right place that each volunteer can act to the best of their ability; this has a great effect on reparticipation of them. Third, we should not forget to appraise volunteers after events. The value of their activities is a very important element to improve the quality of sports event; a positive appraisement about the participation gives a momentum to prepare for the next event. Fourth, we should train or retrain the volunteers. In the management of volunteers, training is essential for them to show their best. Fifth, we should improve the related regulation and system to support volunteers; sports have the possibility of accidents in their characteristic, but proper maintenance for the training and management can lead out an active participation of volunteers. We can also lessen the burden of volunteering by the minimal system for financial support. Events will spread out in various ways, and especially sports event will show steady and rapid development. Among many programs for the event activation, the application of volunteers is regarded as a very inspiring and effective one. In my opinion, it is required to study this from the various aspect of volunteers when we consider an increasing demand for sports event volunteers.
