In this study, Regulations for Prevention portion of the current SAFETY CONTROL OF DANGEROUS SUBSTANCES ACT was reviewed in order to prevent accidents from fire, explosion, leakage of hazardous material and enhance its counter measures. Problems and its amendments for current hazardous material regulations for prevention were reviewed based on the currently applied hazardous material regulations and relative regulations and decrees. Comprehensive standard which encompasses not only the accidents which are covered within the current regulations but also its counter measures should be prepared. Moreover, in order to decrease accidents caused by hazardous material, application of Regulations for prevention to gas stations should also be considered. A evaluation process with a evaluation team seems much more reasonable rather than a hazardous material handler at a local fire station making decision on assessment on regulation for prevention.
