Since it was established in 1997 when the Korean government received the economic assistance from IMP, the Video Journalist (VJ) production system has settled down as a dominant broadcasting production system in Korea. Due to the expansion of such broadcasting production systems, the problem of quality evaluations is becoming one of the controversial issues in the broadcasting industry. To enhance the quality of VJ broadcasting programs, we need to evaluate the programs in various aspects and apply the results to the subsequent program production, rather than to simply produce and broadcast the VJ programs. That is, the following essential questions are to be considered: "How are the programs evaluated?" "What are the criteria?" "How is the objectivity of the evaluation guaranteed without resort to the subjective opinions of the evaluators?" To develop the quality evaluation model of VJ broadcasting programs, we need to have substantial items and models of the quality evaluation which we have to apply. This paper is to develop the evaluation criteria for VJ broadcasting programs by interviewing experts in the broadcasting industry. 10 items to evaluate the quality of VJ broadcasting programs are selected from the survey results.
