Many emerging countries are accelerating large-scale new town projects to resolve the severe lack of urban space and housing due to rapid urbanization. Although many emerging countries are propelling new town development projects, they have difficulties actually implementing the projects due to problems such as assembling land, financing, executing system etc. Therefore, it is crucial that we provide solutions that can resolve the problems they are facing and help them to implement their project. In countries which lack a strong land expropriation policy that Korea has, various measures of securing land could be adopted such as the replotting method, property exchange method, landlord joint development method, utilization of public land method etc. Also, in countries with insufficient finance, financing methods that meet its local situation can be suggested, by combining various financing measures such as landlord participation method, land readjustment method, pre-sale method, PPP, guarantee by MDB etc. Finally, as majority of emerging countries lack the proper executing system to implement new town development projects, we need to share our extensive new town development experience led by the public sector and dispatch experts to improve their new town development processing system. If Korea makes effective use of the information and network gained by sharing our knowledge and experience with these emerging countries, it will a great help to Korean companies which try to enter the overseas urban development market.
