The housing district of the slope in Taepyeong-dong, Seongnam-si, has rectangular blocks due to city planning. However, the plan in the past was based on plane view without consideration of the topography of the Taepyeong-dong and focused on quantitative supply rather than the quality of housing. resulting in low-quality residential environment. To improve poor residential environment of Taepyeong-dong, we must acknowledge its characteristics and classify the territory of this area. Therefore, this study is to investigate the condition and composition of territory before starting residential rehabilitation and also, it is the process of classifying rehabilitation areas and conservation areas through analysing territory.
