This study is to investigate factors influencing on joint-profits for both labor and management and to examine the difference of both sides to suggest successful negotiation approach. Survey was conducted to 8 luxury hotels in Seoul which have labor union. As a result, four different factors affecting negotiation were found such as communication skill, positiveness of negotiation attitude, environment of negotiation process and credibility of negotiator. The study hypotheses revealed that all factors except credibility of negotiator showed significant differences between labor and management. One of the concrete results in this study is that communication skill between labor and management had strong impact on the negotiation outcome. Therefore, this study concluded that improvement of communication skill can provide joint-profits for both union and management. One of other findings indicated that labor and management also have significant difference on importance level for negotiation outcome. Management valued on amicable relationship while union valued rational and fair relationship. In other words, management Understand that amicable relationship guaranteed successful outcome for the future, but union preferred rationalness and fairness of present outcome.
