The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of psychological skills on the performance of 495 registered players of athletics and ball game. Six categories, anxiety, concentration, confidence, mental preparation, motivation and team emphasis were surveyed using questionnaire PSIS(Psychological Skilis Inventory for Sports), developed by Mahoney(1987). Statistically analyzed the difference between the players` group of athletics and the ball game and the difference between male and female athletics in the above 6 categories by using one way ANOVA. The following conclusions were obtained: 1. In the anxiety to the athletic performance, the anxiety of athletic players were love than ball game players`, but no difference was found between male and female athletics. 2. The concentration of athletics was lower than ball game players`. There was no difference between male and female athletics in concentration. 3. In the confidence to the athletic performance, no difference was found between the athletics and ball game players and the male and the female athletic players. 4. In the mental preparation, there were no differences between the athletics and bali game players and between the male and female athletics. 5. In the motivation to the athletic performance, no difference was found between the athletics and ball game players. 6. The team emphasis of ball game players was higher than the athletics`. There was no difference between the male and the female athletics in the team emphasis.
