The purpose of this study is to investigate state anxiety level by making general middle school students objects. For this study, general middle school students whose numbers are 120 boys and 120 girls(total 240) are devided into each three 40 students according to their athletic skill levels. The implement of this investigation is the CSAI-2 which is invented by Martens in 1983. The way of analysis is performed by thinking that an athletic skill level (High Rank group/ Middle rank group/ Low rank group) is an independent factor, both state anxiety and sex distinction are dependent factors. The allowed level of hypothesis is established under (p $gt; 0.05) and in the case that there is a mutual working effect, the individual comparison of average is used through the way of Newan Keuls, verification.(P .05) As the result of analysis of this investigation, my research comes to conclusion as following; 1. In cognitive anxiety according to athletic skill levels of three boy groups, low rank group appears higher than middle rank group. middle rank group higher than high rank group. In the other words, there is a notable difference statistically. (P $lt; .05) 2. Although the somatic anxiety according to athletic skill levels of three boy groups appears high in middle rank group and low rank group, them is no notable difference statistically, and the somatic state anxiety level appears high between low and high rank group between middle and high rank group, there is a notable difference statistically. (P $lt; .05) 3. In the self-confidence according to athletic skill levels of three boy groups, there is a notable difference between high and middle. rank group, and between high and low rank group. But there is no notable difference between middle and low rank group with some statistic difference. (P $lt; .05) 4. In cognitive anxiety according to athletic skill levels of three girl groups, cognitive state anxiety appears high in low, middle and high rank group in the order described before and there is a notable difference statistically. (P $lt; .05) 5. In the physical anxiety according to athletic skill levels of girl groups. the somatic state anxiety level appears high between three groups, but there isn`t notable difference. (p $gt; .05) 6. In self-confidence according to athletic skill level of throe groups, the high rank group appears higher than middle and low rank group and middle rank group higher than low rank group and there is a notable difference statistically between them.(P $lt; .05) 7. About sex distinction of boy and girl, there is a notable difference between both ranks and sex distinctions. There is a mutual working effect between ranks, sex distinction.(p $lt; .05) 8. As there appears a notable difference between sec distinctions, conditions, there exists a mutual working effect. In other words, they effected each other. (p $lt; .05) 9. Because among sex distinctions, ranks, and conditions them is a notable difference, a mutual Working effects exist between them. (P $lt; .05)
