Since 2006, industrial parks have emitted greenhouse gases(GHGs) about 63.2 percent of total industrial service in Korea. So we need to reduce the GHG emissions in industrial parks through integrated approach. This study has intended to build the GHG emissions reduction strategies in industrial parks through focus group interview (FGI) based on the integrated point of view.
This study consisted of following three steps. First, we reviewed related researches and both foreign and domestic cases. Second, we analyzed the GHG emissions" status of domestic industrial parks and drew some remarks. Finally, we suggested integrated GHG emissions reduction strategies using FGI.
As a result, this study has suggested the following strategies : 1) To perform energy diagnosis and supply equipments with high efficiency; 2) To build GHG inventories of industrial parks; 3) To build industrial symbiosis networks between companies; 4) To supply integrated energy; 5) To supply new and renewable energy; 6) To adopt Korea Voluntary Emissions Reduction (KVER) policy; 7) To apply "small businesses’ GHG emissions reduction bundling program" to industrial parks; 8) To build an integrated information management system of industrial parks; 9) To provide appropriate education and information related to GHG emissions reduction; 10) To operate and manage a "Climate Change Response Support Center"; and 11) To establish mutual relationships between related companies.
