The objective of this study is to recognize the meaning of STEAM program through theoretic consideration and to construct the assessment item and establish standard index of STEAM program, a program to nurture human resources according to the target of fostering people of future convergence with creativity and personality.
By reconstructing previous study regarding STEAM program assessment, assessment item and standard index corresponding to "High school student DOT LAB Project for fostering future science leader" which was conducted in the Science Culture Design Lab of Seoul National University of Science and Technology were created.
For whichever STEAM Program, the most important consideration is the need of assessment policy according to the feature of each program. The assessment index chart of the High School Student DOT LAB Project may be used as a material to improve the design of future DOT LAB project.
Therefore, the four assessment standard criteria for the concept of talent that DOT LAB Program wants were named "DL-4C", and its assessment criteria were established. DL-4C is comprised of Concept recognition, Creative approach, Convergence application, and Contents composition.
DL-4C was extracted through research, and the range and definition according to the criteria were determined and subordinate components of the criteria were created. It was revealed that extracted assessment criteria of DOT LAB Program can be applied to future DOT LAB Program and it can be used for modification and supplementation of the program.
