The present study examined the leisure patterns of elementary and secondary school teachers in Pusan. This study analyzed the preferred leisure activities, leisure facilities, leisure expenses, constraints to leisure activities, and leisure satisfaction of teachers in relation to gender, age, years of experience, marital status, and elementary school and secondary school. The data collected from survey were analyzed using x 2 with SAS statistical package. The results of the analysis are as follows: (1) Regardless of gender, most of the teachers tended to spend leisure time doing outdoor activities such as climbing and fishing on weekend during the school period. (2) Female teachers tended to attend various professional development programs during the summer and winter vacations. Male teachers tended to spend leisure time doing outdoor activities during the summer vacation, whereas they tended to spend leisure time reading, studying, and collection instructional materials during the winter vacation. (3) Income made no difference to leisure expenses. Unmarried teachers were more likely to spend on leisure than were married ones. (4) It was noted that all of the teachers considered lack of time as a constraint to leisure activities. (5) Teachers in their twenties and thirties regarded daily routine work as a constraint to leisure activities. Teachers in their forties and fifties needed leisure space as well as leisure facilities.
