To ensure sustainable safety during life cycle of remodeling project for existing multi-family housing, structural safety is required after remodeling. In this article, government policy and discussion issues were conducted to improve safety.
The result shows detailed methods, criterion, and process to have structural safety in design and construction phase including disposal are necessary. In addition, solutions of existing structural problems after new construction, and achievement of demanded seismic performance are also required. And role and responsibility of structural engineering experts are prerequisite.
