Kim Young Shin ? Director of Multicultural Families Project(Center for Vietnam ? Korea cultural exchange) said: I came to Vietnam in 1993. At that time, I could not imagine that there would be such many Korean men getting married with Vietnamese women like this. At the beginning of 2000, I heard that some Korean men got married with Vietnamese women just only in 3 days. This news made me disappointed. I ask myself “How can a man get married with a woman just after 3 days without understanding of het?” That`s why I study international marriage between Korea and Vietnam. I had the same concern to start my research on 80 women who intended to get married with Korean men and 20 parents of them at My Son My Son hamlet, Ngu Lao commune, Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong province
