Report Errors

This study explores how communication in the internet sphere influences the social norms of everyday life. More specifically, it examines the effects of the frequency of internet use and its impact on the norms regarding honorific language and taciturnity. This study includes reference groups, genres of internet service, and internet interaction in the analyses, using data collected by an internet survey(n = 655). The results suggest both a generation gap in the process of changing norms and a mediation effect of online interactions on normative behavior in offline situations.
