Regeneration of townscape dose not only include visual aspect but also includes socio-cultural values and economic activities in line with synthetic regeneration. In the context of this view, this regeneration techniques examines precedence of regeneration through improved townscape in yeongju form 2007 to present. The city of yeongju has introduced urban-architecture integrated masterplan and total management organization. The city has implemented design management system of expert lead collaborative administration and decision marking process system of citizen participation.
There are 8 types of place driven regeneration techniques : Making characteristic streetscape in the central commercial quarter, making landmark through reinterpretation of residents every life places, finding placeness with memories, finding new value in the abandoned space, opening up closed administration office to more accessible public space, consolidating identity of scenery through partnership of villages, making integrated scenery through linkage and mediation of separate diverse projects, creating slow scenery. Also design method and policy system are illustrated in two section in this document.
