The paper was to find Chang Hyun-kwang`s(張顯光) status in the history of Confucianism. Generally, the researchers evaluated that Korean Neo-confucianism and even the theories of Korean Neo-confucian followed Chinese Neo-confucianism. Although there are many attempts to find the particularity of Korean Neo-confucianism, it is not enough to establish the subjectivity of Korean Neo-confucianism.
So, on the premise of Contextual Turn, a kind of culture recipient theory, the writεr tried to resεarch the characters and the status of Chang Hyun-kwang`s Neo-confucianism in the history of Neo-confucianism from the Perspective of East-Asian Confucianism. It is a part of the work to value the status of the Korean Neo-confucianism in the history of Neo-confucianism.
In the paper, the writer tried to evaluate Chang Hyun-kwang`s status by reviewing characteristics of his Neo-confucianism such as the theory of Yiki-Gyeongwi(理氣經繹)，the theory of Sadan - Chiljeong(四端七情)，the theory of Insim-Dosim(人心道心) and the theory of cultivation(修養論).
So, on the premise of Contextual Turn, a kind of culture recipient theory, the writεr tried to resεarch the characters and the status of Chang Hyun-kwang`s Neo-confucianism in the history of Neo-confucianism from the Perspective of East-Asian Confucianism. It is a part of the work to value the status of the Korean Neo-confucianism in the history of Neo-confucianism.
