Grievance(Won) is one of the most primal negative emotions men have, which is very likely to lead to a tragedy anytime. Controling and sublimating grievance would be the most important task of all for personal and social well-being. Kang Jeungsan (1871~1909) was the religious leader who created a new religious ideology of `resolution of grievances for the mutual beneficence of all life (Haewonsangsaeng)` based on resolution of grievances (Haewon). The religious order with the key doctrine of Haewonsangsaeng is The Fellowship of Daesoon Truth (Daesoonjinrihoe). Daesoonjinrihoe was founded by Doju, Cho Jeongsan (1895~1958) and Dojeon, Park Wudang (1917~1996) who had inherited the orthodox heritage from Jeungsan in order.
One of the basic scriptures of Chinese folk Taoism, Tai-Ping-Jing, published at the late Han before Jeungsan, states that Haewon is a prerequisite of the construction of a peaceful world. Both `resolution of deep grievances (Haewongyeol)` in Tai-Ping-Jing and Haewonsangsaeng in Daesoonjinrihoe aim to get rid of disasters through Haewon, to make harmony and happiness, and to have commonalities in seeking for a peaceful world and an earthly paradise in the later world, where grievances have been resolved, respectively. However, since Tai-Ping-Jing finds the fundamental cause of grievances in human faults, especially the sovereign`s erroneous rule, for Haewon, individuals aim to resolve succeeded burdens (Seung-bu) inherited to their families for generations while the sovereign to spread right politics. In contrast, Daesoonjinrihoe finds the fundamental cause of grievances in conflicts, the structural contradiction of the universe. Thus, for Haewon, the Highest Ruling Entity should actively intervene, convert the laws of the operation of the heaven and the earth from conflicts to mutual beneficence, and prepare a stage of Haewon era, so that all divine gods, human beings including the dead, and even animals in the entire universe can pursue for Haewon. `Haewongyeol` Solves the problems centering on the human being while `Haewonsangsaeng` does at the universal dimension. In addition, since Tai-Ping-Jing judges a ruler who destroys Tao to be an entity to be punished by the Highest Ruling Entity, it can flow toward revolution anytime while since Haewon in Daesoonjinrihoe emphasizes mutual beneficence, it is extremely unlikely to flow toward revolution. Instead, Daesoonjinrihoe emphasizes religious belief of depending on the Highest Ruling Entity for Haewon.
The ideas of Haewon in Tai-Ping-Jing and Daesoonjinrihoe seem to be similar; but considerable differences are found in the extent and causes of the grievances, he method of Haewon, and the characteristics. This suggests that if Daesoonjinrihoe is described in its relationship with Taoism, not only similarities but also heterogeneities between them should be taken into consideration.
