I have three critical minds. first, why have not we been interested in the external conditions for small nations to initiate the war, focusing on an internal dispute between small nations? Second, if the causes of the war between small nations are the internal problems like a territorial dispute, a religious dispute and a race problem, why have not some small nations that had have the internal disputes like a territorial dispute, a religious dispute and a race problem waged the war or why have some small nations? Third, after the small nations had gone through the war, why did they bring the war to an end despite not settling the internal disputes. These critical minds are corrected in the research questions. (1) When do small nations determine to initiate the war and give up the idea of waging the war? (2) What are the external conditions the policy makers think to initiate and bring the war to a conclusion? To get an answer about like research questions, I have two hypotheses.
Hypothesis: (1) If the small nations undergo the power vacuum which is the situation that the great nations do not project the power into the area in small nations, the possibility that the small nations initiate the war will increase.
Hypothesis: (2) If the great nations project the power into small nations, the possibility that the small nations initiate the war will decrease.
To test the hypotheses as above, I selected the cases such as the India-China War, the India-Pakistan War of 1965, and the India-Pakistan War of 1971. Through the testing process, I look forward to acquiring the answer about the timing conditions of the war in the small nations.
