Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) has been well known strategy in a supply chain due to its benefits such as fewer shortages, lower inventory levels and higher sales. In this paper a simulation study on a supply chain that consists of multiple suppliers who produce C-parts such as fasteners, and a single manufacturer who produces industrial pumps is considered. The effectiveness of an eVMI system which uses electronic balances and web-based management system is analyzed with respect to the total logistics cost. The simulation results indicate that the most cost savings are obtained from the decrease of line stop caused by the shortage of parts.
