When there is no solution only in studying Korean art history, there have been many cases that there were solutions found in the studies of East asian art history. In this viewpoint, the studies of East asian art history have played a meaningful role in the Korean art history for the past four years. However, one of the most important facts is that what the academic worlds expect is a meaningful study that deserves attractions from its local academic world. For this, it is necessary for the studies of East asian art history to be globalized. Needless to say, in order for the studies of East asian art history to be globalized, it is natural to secure global competitiveness to an extent, but I also believe that a sincere globalization should have ‘communicativeness’ with the world.
From the past 4 years, the denotation of the studies of East asian art history has been extended greatly. Though the studies of East asian art history have been developed in quality and quantity, for the ‘communication’ with the world what the researchers of the studies of East asian art history still need are new views and ways of comprehensive searching, and endeavors of following researchers who adopt and develop previous studies of both domestic and overseas.
