From the perspective of articulation between counter movements and academic movements, Korean Counter-Academic Movements (KCAM) have changed in three times since 1980. First generation of KCAM was articulation between revolutionary movements and Critic Academic movements in the 1980s, second generation of KCAM focused on democratic contest by means of policy-making based on civil society. In the 2000s, a third generation of KCAM appeared while criticising both 1980’s transformism and 1990’s progressivism, This generation created collective knowledge as a means of constructing collective subjects. The paradigm of KCAM was Science in the 1st, Policy in the 2nd, and Knowledge in itself in the 3rd. In 2010, some elements of a new generation emerged through articulation between academic and cooperative movements. Academic coops shared the politics of knowledge with KCAM of all generations, but one aspect was different: the economics of Knowledge. Academic coops have the alternative mode of production in that all members of one coop are equal producers of collective knowledge and there is no hierarchy. We call this a P2P(Peer-to-Peer) mode of production. Academic coops have declared that all types of Knowledge should be common to all people. Therefore, in contrast with commodity-based Coops, Academic coops have elements of a commons-based P2P mode of production. This paradigm of commons in Academic Coops can give rise to new articulation between counter movements and academic movements.
