A wedding hall which satisfies the change of customer’s desire with various spaces that have the concept of independent hall has been introduced in Japan earlier than Korea. Also this study examines wedding halls in Japan because currently really developed social phenomenon has been fulfilled in Korea. Therefore this study aims at analyzing characteristics of space expression of wedding hall in Japan that have introduced the concept of independent hall.
As the result of analyzing its characteristics of space expression, a wedding hall in Japan has introduced the concept of independent hall to realize the individual character of bride and groom, thus it can express nature-friendly and characteristic space. These elements have solved several problems of the wedding industry caused from late marriage, low birth rate, increase of singles, and change of customer’s values, and improved the wedding industry. The concept of independent hall also has been recently introduced in wedding hall in Korea, but it is still in an early stage. However, the number of wedding will be reduced fast by late marriage and low birth rate, and the customer’s desire will become more various. Accordingly, the results of this study is expected to suggest the desirable direction of wedding facilities in Korea.
