The Korean lyrics written in Chinese character which was translated from Korean is very limited in the number. Among those Chinese written lyrics, more than half of them translated from Korean version were 15 about the Song-gang-Gasa poem. Especially, 「Gwandong-Byeolgok」 was continuously translated into Chinese during 17-19C, which listing 6 works. This study reviews the intention, purpose, and historical meaning of the same works in different books such as the first edited 「Beon-Gwandong-Byeolgok-Ga」 in Taekdang-Seonsaeng-jip 『澤堂先生集』(Book of Scholar Taekdang) and remained works of Song-gang Special Manuscript 『松江別集追錄遺詞』 in the translated work of 「Gwandong-Byeolgok」 by Chongho Lee Yang-ryeol(靑湖 李揚烈). Even there has been some debate on those two different books but we can find a possibility of the works about the translator, original book, and conclusion verse part.
Reviewing the career and situation of the publishing books, the translator was Chongho Lee Yang-ryeol and the most possible original book was the first edited 「Beon-Gwandong-Byeolgok-Ga」 in Taekdang-Seonsang-jip 『澤堂 先生集』. Korean lyrics translated into Chinese shows a characteristics in the form as free changing verse and transmitting verse(換韻ㆍ通韻), phrase parting or omitting using addition or comment for detail interpretation of the song for 190 phrases in the 7 word style poem. Also, the contents focused to emphasize the morality in Confucian theory and added phrasing King at the ending part of the song for amusement.
The characteristics of the Korean lyrics translated into Chinese shows upgraded status of 「Gwandong-Byeolgok」 in literature to acquire normative aesthetics of the translation which has been devalued for the time. It was also motivated by the reflection of recovery from the inferior or political status of gloomy West Group(西人). The element of amusement in the conclusion part of the works still remained question because Songgang should have enjoyed hero’s song but if the third party guest should have phrased drinking song, and Mr. Chungho should have swear his royalty toward King. But the title of the translated song can induce the origination of the song from 「Gwandong-Byeolgok」, and there is no different insist about the theme expressing a poetical taste. The amusement conclusion part in 「Gwandong-Byeolgok」 was cited as drinking song by West Group people who have lost the power of the age to overcome the depression. Poem by Chungho translated into Chinese have important value to serve a clue in the aspect of first musical material for the lyric book in 18C-19C.
However, there was a view on the translation of Korean verse into Chinese as a vacant and the motivation or purpose had been simplified. However, translation of Korean verse as a typical works 「Gwandong-Byeolgok」 for such a long time prove those views was wrong. The result of the analysis definitely shows they are not simple purpose or motivation to remain to the descendants. Translation of Korean lyrics into Chinese might be possible to intervene to the contents by writers not as just copying authors. We have to admit the uniqueness and coefficient of Chinese translated Korean lyrics in the two lyrics. If we find the characteristics of the acceptance of works by detail analysis, it could be a good finding for the elements which may reproduce as dynamic figure as expanding over the time space of the literature works.
