Smart Grid is defined as the intelligent electric network and realtime communication system between electric provider and consumer by not only integrating telecommunication technology, but electric producing, transmitting, and consuming process. Electronic providers can control the electric resource flexibly by real time monitoring. In the time zone relatively electric usage lower, the surplus energy can be used for Pumped storage hydroelectricity and kept to use for peek time. While, electric consumers can check out the amount of the usage in anywhere: home, office, and factory. To reduce the amount of the bill, consumers can avoid the electric peek time and utilize electricity in the lower price time zone. The advantages of Smart Grid Technology; The first, energy can be saved by generating the demanding electricity with network monitoring. The second, air pollution can be reduced by utilizing electricity efficiently. Lastly, the quality of electricity can be improved by controlling unexpected disruption of supplying exact electricity. Recently, the government recognized that Smart Grid is the one of the most crucial industries in the near future. The plan of constructing a demonstration complex in Jejudo is released to the public. The total budget is going to reach 58 billion won until 2013. In the complex, the managing electric technology is examined by applying Smart Grid on the actual life. The Smart Grid Exhibition Center, in which the necessary of developing Smart Grid will be presented by illustrating technological details, is planned for enlightening the public.
