The purpose of this study was to develop the ingenious fashion culture products using the Baekje traditional patterns. The method of the study was reviewed of the literatures about the Baekje traditional patterns and the knitting techniques. Baekje traditional patterns were selected randomly, made to motifs, and then applied to cardigans and pullovers. Design development was used TexPro Design CAD program. Knitwear were knitted by Shima Seiki computerized knitting machines and Brother manual knitting machines.
The results of study were as follows. First, Baekje traditional patterns could be used as the very diverse types due to abundant resources. Therefore, Baekje traditional patterns were has the many potential to be used as a motif to develop the fashion cultural products with the cultural characteristics. Second, the style of cardigan and pullover was chosen four styles each of them. Each style was applied patterns and four color-way. Knitwear was able to develop a variety of designs as a change of color using color-way. Third, One of color-way designs was made as a knit fashion cultural product. Knitwear products were made by wool 100% yarn or Cotton 47% / Acrylic 53% mixed yarn and applied the various gauges. The patterns of knitwear were expressed by floating, bird’s eye and tubular jacquard knitting techniques. Fourth, Baekje traditional patterns were shown the uniqueness and superiority of the pattern itself, and were able to fashion cultural commercialization preferred by modern people.
