After the crisis of neoliberal financial globalization in 2007, what we are witnessing is not the end of the neoliberal governing, but its persistency being accompanied by deepened and generalized insecurity in ordinary life. The article is to investigate what makes this paradoxical situation develop in terms of the social sources of neoliberalism and financialization. Especially, the author pays attention to the relationship between the financialization of ordinary life and the social dimension of the citizenship and seeks its implications for the social and democracy. What is necessary for excluding social exclusions for alternative development is not just the return of the social, but its transformation.
