As an important part in a Chinese book for foreigners, the note in foreign language (not Chinese) for new words is a point about the quality of the book. In this paper, we list some errors in the 〈Elementary Spoken Chinese〉 (published by Beijing University). According to the misunderstanding caused by the errors of the notes for new words, we give some advice for the notes in Korean: First, it’s better to note the number words with the two number words system in Korean; Second, taking account of the gender, the position in the family hierarchy, even the marital status when we note for the words of address; third, following the policy for language in Korea when we note for the name of a person or a place; fourth, when we note for some literature or art works, we should use the Korean title when they published of played in Korea; fifth, using the original form of a word in Korean; sixth, it’s better to note some fixed phrase with a whole meaning, not noting separately.
