This study identified how the academic aspect of Musil was developed in 145 poems under 62 themes by Shin Gyeong-jun which are included in volume 1 of『Yeoam Yugo』. Such aspect were roughly developed in three areas. Firstly, it was close to living. Secondly, it was based on observation of facts of objects. Thirdly, quality was pursued as much as the norms of Chinese poetry was destroyed.
Shin Gyong-jun who was appointed as a governor of Jangyeon when he was 53 yeard old, described life of the people in Part 10 of 「Mineunsi(民隱詩)」. In particular, fetters of the local people were vividly projected into his poetry.
Then, this study gave a focus on observation of facts through ten parts of「Field Insects」and「Small Insects」. Mr. Shin had much interest in small objects and had a habit to observe whatever insignificant things they were. It was concluded that he recognized true values of objects as well as respected them.
His pursuit for quality while destroying the norms of Chinese poetry was found in free verses. He was very experiment-minded in writing free verses. He decided poetry styles according to situations as he respected poetic situations and it was concluded that he pursued for quality even in poetry styles.
Last, this study discussed relations between his Musil Spirit and modernism-oriented idea, considering that his poetic practice based on Musil Spirit was possible as he got out of the frame of classicism and impersonal thinking.
