Beonja company was founded in 1897, The company was unlimited partnership(合名會社), all partners(社員) took part in it’s operation together.
The company’s income was not bad. but it’s prospect was gloomy because of financial difficulty and imported china, etc. Therefore the company changed unlimited partnership system into individual production-management system since 1900.
The Bunweon partners(분원사원) of the company produced china individually in Bunweon. On the other hand, Seoul partners(서울사원) stopped investment and production. They received facility fees from the Bunweon partners, and operated the company with that money.
The head office and the branch were operated in different ways. And the head office was parasitic on the branch which made china in Bunweon.
The china industry of Bunweon was suffered from the cheaper vessel that had been imported from Japan, and from the penetration of the Japanese ceramics.
The company changed the name of the company fron Beonja company to Beonsa company(燔砂會社), and Produced coloring china for the first time in order to overcome the crisis. However, the company was declined as funding crunch and weakening of price competition, etc. Eventually the company was closed, and was handed over baton to the last company of Bunweon.
This paper considered dual operating system of Beonja company and confrontation of the company with changes of market environment that was unknown until now. This will be announced structure that traditional china manufacture had been reorganized into a colonial ceramic industry.
