This study is focused on Na Bye-Suk (1896-1949)’ s fiction and essays, analyze the modern women’s desire to ‘Dwelling’ and the process of failure. Na Hye-Suk is first-generation female painter of the Cho-seon, and recognized as a writer. But her life is so happy, but did. In 1927, Na Hye-Suk with her husband of two years rises to Western trip. After her overseas experience and a long way from her previous life depends. She is not a man’s wife, the children’s mother anymore, and lose her home. In this study, to find the reason why Europe and America during the trip that she unsuccessfully attempted to reach the essence of ourselves that keeps track of the process.
First, the study of novel “Kyung-Hee” and “Hyun-sook”, find there are women can not ‘Dwelling’ anymore. And analyse why they can not ‘Dwelling’, investigated based on into ‘awareness of space’. And to find the cause of essays dealing with Western travel through strange in nature without realizing that the problems facing the shock can get dealt with. Na Hye-Suk asked about her own position was a human constantly. But she could not hear any answers questions, and eventually she did not know their true nature while wandering lives.
