This study analyzes the disaster mitigation elements reviewed by urban development types and its characteristic based upon the review about the case submitteed to Seoul Predisaster Effect Review Committee. This research dealt with 102 businesses submitted to Seoul Predisaster Effect Review Committee from 2007 to 2011. The methods of study are setting “the index of the analysis” about the disaster mitigation element and analyzing the review of the committee. According to the result, first, the disaster mitigation tendency corresponding to the urban development types has been changed from the structural disaster mitigation elements to the non-structural disaster mitigation elements. Second, it was found that a significant difference in the characteristics of each disaster mitigation element in the administrative plan step and the development project step. Third, there were differences in the characteristic of the disaster mitigation elements for each the urban development types. Fourth, The torrential rain disaster was the most reviewed among the natural disaster. However, as to the disaster type shown up in the review opinion, there was nearly no relationship with the disaster mitigation elements.
