This study deals with the red light violations occurred at 4-legged signalized intersections in Chungbuk. The objectives are to analyze the characteristics and to develop the statistical models(multiple regression) of red light violations frequency which explains the relation among the red light violations, traffic volumes, and intersection environmental factors. In pursuing the above, the study is using the data of 38,324 red light violations collected from 28 installation of RLC(red light camera)(2004~2007). The main results analyzed are as follows. First, most of red light violations occur during the daytime hours (08:00~18:00). Second, about 81.1% of the violators travel at or below the posted speed limit. Moreover, 77.3% of the violations occur within 2 seconds after the on set of red light. Finally, the multiple regression model was analyzed to be statistically significant(R<SUP>2</SUP> = 0.510)
