Political system closely affects the formation of the conditions for our life. Why does Nietzsche criticize both democracy and socialism and mention "great politics" and "art of life" as its alternatives in his major books?
According to Nietzsche, great politics is a creative behavior which enhances oneself as a stronger person through the "hierarchy" and "distancing" of values. It is accomplished in the struggles with the areas of "small politics" in which the stronger human beings stimulate the group instinct among the weak ones; that is, in the struggles with Christianity, traditional metaphysics and democracy. Great politics, after all, is a new enlightening behavior to overcome the order of low values and shape the art of one"s life. Nietzsche dreams of a life free from any kind of restrictions through such "great politics". He intended to plan one"s own unique life that cannot be replaced by anyone through implementing "great politics" sovereign and to build a new hope for the future through the sovereign individual desiring that such life is eternally recurred.
