The main funcion of naval surface to air missiles is to protect the warship from the airfighters and missiles. Recently their function has been extended to protect ballistic missiles. This paper makes a technical summary of naval surface to air missile systems in the world including near countries of south Korea and analyzes the research trends of core technology. This research will help military planners and researchers to grasp the fundamental concept of naval surface to air missile system for planning and developing activities related core technology.
