Roman Polanski has been directed 19 feature length narrative films from Knife in the Water(1962) to Carnage(2011). Knife in the Water is the source text for later all his films in terms of style and theme. He became a forerunner of Polish New Wave through his famous popularity with co-writer, director Jerzy Skolimowski. His debut film Knife in the Water seemingly about the story of old generation scolding frivolous youngster, but it is rooted that it criticized bigotary government criticized the film and banned it.
