This study seeks to present points of considerations for advancing eco-tourism by defining the effect environmental awareness and the unity of the locals have on festivals centering on eco-tourism festival that is gaining more public interest through its increase of importance. To accomplish the objective of this study, a survey was conducted asking questions to the locals of Muju and Hampyong regions where ecotourism festivals. The results are as follow:
First, the results reveal that the locals with more environmental awareness show more positive attitudes toward festivals. Second, the results reveal that the locals with more unity show more positive attitudes toward festivals. Third, it"s been confirmed that the locals with greater environmental awareness have greater willingness to participate in the festival by analyzing the effect environmental awareness has on the willingness of the locals to participate. Fourth, the results reveal that the locals with greater sense of unity have greater willingness to participate.
