Seolya Han’s adaption A Way of Blood is the short story dealing with the process where Kim Ilsung established a plan to attack Hamgyung-do, North Korea. Here, its block books of 1946 and 1948 and/or 1959 and 1960 are the same in the overall contents. However, they are totally different if I examine the historical facts centering on their temporal backgrounds. As shown in the examination of those various block books of his, collating the adaptations accurately with the original and examining whether it was adapted must necessarily precede studying North Josun literature because it always involves the problem of adaptation. As shown in the various theses of Kim Yoonsik and others, a study which does not examine the adaptations for the block books of his work A Way of Blood but deals with its adaptations is destined to cause serious errors. In particular, not only the block books in the 1945 Liberation of Korea and in the 1950s and 1960s but further the adapted block books after unique idea system was formed, where Kim Ilsung-centered history penetrated, are more problematic because they are made differently from the original and because many of them are interpreted as different meanings from the original.

한설야의 문제작 「혈로」는 김일성의 함경도 진공 계획을 수립하는 과정을 다루고 있는 단편소설이다. 김일성이 이끄는 유격대 대원들은 압록강을 바라보면서 조국에 대한 기억을 떠올리며, 또한 김 장군은 좋아하는 낚시질을 하면서 함경도의 주요 도시를 진공할 계획을 세운다. 이것이 「혈로」의 전체적인 내용이다. 여기서 1946년 판본?1948년 판본 ?혈로?나 1959년 판본?1960년 판본 「혈로」의 이런 전체적인 내용은 동일하다. 그러나 1946년 판본?1948년 판본 ?혈로?와 1959년 판본?1960년 판본 「혈로」의 시간적 배경을 중심으로 한 역사적 사실을 검토한다면 전혀 다른 판본이 된다. 1946년 판본?1948년 판본 「혈로」의 역사적인 내용은 ‘1935년 겨울’에 ‘조국광복회’를 조직했고, ‘1937년’에 있었던 ‘무송현성 전투’와 ‘임강현 전투’를 치른 이후 ‘1937년 여름’ 압록강에서 낚시를 하면서 ‘함경북도 6도시 진공 계획’을 세웠고, 함경북도 진공 계획이 일본군에게 사전에 발각되어 이 계획을 변경하여 ‘1938년 봄’에 함경남도의 ‘혜산읍을 습격했다’는 것이다. 그런 반면 1959년 판본?1960년 판본 「혈로」의 역사적인 내용은 ‘1936년 초’에 ‘조국광복회’를 조직했고, 1936년 8월 ‘무송현성 전투’를 치른 후인 ‘1936년 여름’에 ‘함경도 진공계획’을 수립했다는 것이다. 그런데 이 판본을 통해서는 정확하게 ‘1937년 6월’ 보천보 전투를 실행했는지는 지적할 수는 없다. 이런 한설야의 여러 「혈로」 판본의 검토에서 보듯, 북조선 문학 연구에서는 항상 개작의 문제가 존재하기 때문에 정확한 원본 대조 및 개작 여부에 대한 검토가 반드시 선행되어야 함은 물론이다. 김윤식 등의 여러 논문에서 보듯, 한설야의 「혈로」 판본에 대한 개작 사항을 검토하지 않고 개작본을 대상으로한 연구는 심각한 오류를 불러오게 마련이다. 특히 해방기 판본과 1950～1960년대 판본뿐만 아니라 더 나아가서 유일사상체계가 성립된 후 개작된 판본은 김일성 중심의 역사가 침투하여 원본과 다른 판본이 만들어지고 다른 의미로 해석되는 작품들이 허다하기 때문에 더욱더 문제이다.
