Recently, many publishing companies competitively publish traditional folktales progressing to fairy tales for children.
It is necessary to notice the point of folktales because fairy tales for children are the genre of literature which transmit a folktale to posterity.
Among many folktales, this study is related to the problems and possiblities of “Farting Woman” folktales turning into he fairy tales for children.
It inferred the meaning of how “Farting Woman” accepts the types and factors of folktale through a comparative study with its folktale.
Consequently, this study compares chapters 36 in <Hankukgubimunhakdaegye> and 8 in <LimSukjae Hankuk Gujeonsulhwa> with 22 volumes of which are published in Korea.
Then I pointed out the problems in progressing of “Farting Woman” folktales to fairy tales and made a viewpoint.
My greatest concern was how fairy tales for children reflect on original meaning-“Farting Woman”s’ humor, satire, construction of women’s repressionrepresent and to get over one’s mammonism.
