Iran is a resourceful country which has huge amounts of oil and natural gas. Iran is heavily dependent on energy industry as about 80% of total export is crude oil.
Ironically, Ahmadnejad government is planning further investment in energy industry to reform economic structure that is centralized in oil-gas industry. The reason is that Iranian government has a plan to invest other industries with revenue derived from energy industry.
However, Ahmadnejad government has not run according to the plan due to economic sanction and structural limitation of energy industry. Especially, economic sanctions on Iran from international communities make Iran economy drive the swamp of depression.
In this situation, Iran’s energy industry is growing and developing gradually. South Korea should keep an eye on Iran’s energy industry and international relationship.
