This thesis has arranged the literature point of view of Shin Chae-ho and trend of his novel undertaking. The literature point of view of Shin Chae-ho confirmed through the 《Daehan Maeil Sinbo》 article can be summarized with the efficacy theoretical position and the emphasis on social function and popularity. In other words, Shin Chae-ho requires the literature to enhance powerful sense of patriotism and national spirit to overcome the colonial situation. However, when literature of his time could not undertake its function well, he began to write the works himself. As a result, he wrote the historic bibliographic novels reflecting the great ambitions of heroes in 『Eulji Mundeok』, 『Story of Yi Sunshin』, 『Choi Dotong Story』 and others. After exile to China, his point of view on public-oriented history was converted with its imagination appearing on 『Dream Heaven』. In addition, his was converted in to the anarchistic idealism in 1920s to write 『Great Battle of Dragon and Dragon』.
Shin Chae-ho had the diverse life as editor of newspaper company, independent activist, idealist, poet, novelist and others and had changed his ideology in great ambition theory on the basis of strong people and state to anarchist principle in reflection of his turbulent life. Therefore, the works of looking into the literature of Shin Chae-ho has to be connected to his ideologists at all times. In other words, the system or formative requirements as the modern literature form would be the incidental aspects to look into the Shin Chae-ho literature. As a result, under the modern literature history that requires formative requirement, the position of Shin Chae-ho and his works were minimal. Therefore, it requires sophisticated approach on the Shin Chae-ho literature is required. By undertaking profound analysis on common points and difference from the Shin Chae-ho novel and enlightening period writings, the literature of Shin Chae-ho can be evaluated in more justifiable forms.
