“The Dairy of Jocheon(Visit to Ming Dynasty)” written by Heul Yi, is documentary record that is described a Yi's envoys have been experienced in 1629 to 1630. Through this period, I pay attention to a dairy what is described with relationship between Chosun Dynasty and Ming Dynasty, and conflict between Ming and Later Jin(Qing Dynasty) exactly. In addition to clearly described about feeling go by sea and Chinese culture at this time. That means it should never be overlooked this study is rare valuable points. Because of it is important presents of times can see situation in East Asia at that time.
The keywords of the researches: Yi Heul has started a voyage of Beijing by envoy of repaying and envoy of argue without reason, but at the time, broke out the war between Ming and Later Jin, so he instead of an overland route, bypassed on the seaway; for the aftermath of the war, he had stay in Shanhaiguan for several months and listened to war unrest. After this time, go by sea again, arrived to Tianjin, go the land route arrived to Beijing; during this voyage, he showed think about Chinese culture and Chinese people. Finally, two mission is completed, however the chief of letter flogged to envoys except doctor for the time had delayed. After this mission, Yi Heul has dead by his disease; so his envoys hold a his huge funeral service, go by sea came home to Chosun. In this study, has confirmed that extracted the keywords about this: It had attention to the life of the envoys in depth.
