This Study measured the efficiency of the public health centers in Kyeongbuk Province using the data envelopment analysis(DEA). We selected labors(physicians, nurses, administrators)as input variables. Also we selected examination results and health caring results(result of health treatment, oral health caring, health education, visiting health management) as output variables. The results of efficiency of the public health centers measured by DEA is as follows. In CRS model, average efficiency point was 0.72, the number of efficient public health centers was 7(30.4%). In VRS model, average efficiency point was 0.85, the number of efficient public health centers was 8(34.8%). Influence factor on efficiency of the public health center were health education (β=0.446), visiting health management (β=0.556) as output variables.
The study implications are as followings. It is needed to expand health services.
In addition, Public health center have to a variety of efforts to improve the efficiency and satisfy residents' desires. A systematic evaluation of the performance of the public health centers and the subsequent reform are strongly required.
