This study aims to scrutinize the psychology of the parricide phenomena which have been the components of the myths since the beginning of the human history and yet exist. Research on the actual conditions of home and abroad, speculating the parricide in the mythology and the literature would improve our understanding on the parricide.
Majority of the parricide occurs through the explosion of the family conflicts which have been heaped up for long period. Unlikely to the common belief of the public, the criminology of parricide is put into action by the mentally-ill persons, preceded depravities of the lineal ascendants, need for money, not by the immorality factors only. Heide suggests 3 types of APO(Adolescent Parricide Offenders); severely abused, severely mentally-ill, dangerous anti-social. Newhill, who opposes the opinion which view the parricide as phenomena that occur only under the extraordinary circumstances, emphasizes that it is the extreme phenomena of family violence, and through rare, it happens frequently enough to pay clinical attention and research. Hostile dependence is analysed as a key factor for precipitating parricide. Freud argues that parricide resolutes the unsolved Oedipus conflicts. Great artists such as Homer and Sophocles, Shakespeare and Dostoyevsky, and Proust and others have described the parricide in their works. Though Cain and Abel story is about the siblicides, some interpretate them as symbolical parricides.

The researchers' outcomes indicate that the children's accumulated experiences of being provoked and exasperated into anger by parents are the major factors of leading them to be the offenders. I would like to suggest the approaches which would prevent the parricide and help the parricidal offenders pastorally.
