This Study is the research with regard to the Wonmyo Architecture in Palace that contains the character of Royal's private Ancestral Shrine. As the Wonmyo in Palace of our Country, there were Gyeongryeongjeon of Goryeo Dynasty Age, Moonsojeon in the early stage of Joseon Dynasty, and Seonwonjeon in the latter part of the Joseon Dynasty.
An excavating investigation has been conducted recently about Gyeongryeongjeon, and in cases of Moonsojeon and Seonwonjeon since its each picture and drawing had ever been handed down to now, it is possible to grasp the architectural form and the space composition to some degree.
Based on the above materials, by means of synthetical comparison, analysis on the ritual ceremony, historical literature materials, this Study intended to investigate the construction background of Wonmyo in Palace during the Times of Goryeo Dynasty and Joseon Dynasty, the changing aspect by Times, the architectural formality and its characteristics in accordance with the grave-memorial service.
