H.264/AVC is video compression standard for digital multimedia decoding and encoding. It has high compression rates better than previous standards. In this paper, we describe the implementation of CAVLC and CABAC entropy decoder IP core, which can be operated with multi-core processor. It supports high profile feature such as field/frame coding, 8x8 adaptively and B-direct mode. To verify the proposed architecture, we developed the reference C and verified the designed circuit with the test vector from the C code.
